Willing to know the difference between an affiliate network & an ad network? You have come to the right place. I have talked about affiliate networks earlier however did not talk about ad networks. Although the basic function of an affiliate network & an ad network remains the same yet there are differences in the way they work with their publishers as well as advertisers.

Before we go ahead with the with the differences lets see what are the similarities between and an affiliate network & an ad network.

So affiliate can control what is being promoted on the website. Publisher can’t choose what he wishes to promote so he does not have any control over the ad running on the website. Only ad network can control the ad running on the publisher’s website.
3. Advertiser knows where the ad is running or which affiliate is running the ad or text link. Advertisers are blind about where actually the ads are running.
4. There is no blind affiliate networks. Affiliate networks categories are like digital products affiliate networks, ecommerce products affiliate networks. Lead generation affiliate networks. There are blind as well as premium ad networks. Blind networks don’t share any information as where the ad is being promoted.
5. Affiliates does not have to have a website in order to work with affiliate network. Media buying affiliates & Email marketing affiliates are examples. Publisher needs to have a website in order work with ad network.
